KB10100801 Adjusting SpamAssassin settingsSpamAssassin year 2010 Bug
SpamAssassin has a default rule that scores messages dated after 2010 as quite likely to be spam.
The fix is to add a line to the file local.cf which is in the etc\spamassassin directory beneath your SpamAssassin install directory.
Simply add the following line to the very end of this file using Windows Notepad - it will become the last line.
score FH_DATE_PAST_20XX 0.0
You should then use the Task Manager to end the "spamd.exe" - Mailtraq will restart it - or simply reboot for the changes to take effect.
Setting a whitelist
Whitelist settings can be similarly appended to the local.cf file.
See this SpamAssassin KB article for syntax and warnings.
SpamAssassin in XP systems
In XP systems adjustments need to be made in this file:
C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\.spamassassin\user_prefs
General SA Configuration Tip
Also, if you want to tweak .razor settings, the files read by spamd.exe (as started by Mailtraq) on XP systems are in: C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\.razor
