KB19052501 DMARC - Mail AuthenticationA DMARC record is not something you do in Mailtraq but is an additional TXT record that you have at your Domain Registration.
So, if example.com was registered at GoDaddy. That's where this record gets placed.
Step 1 - generate your DMARC record. Use this tool: https://mxtoolbox.com/DMARCRecordGenerator.aspx Enter your domain name, and adjust the entries in line with their example. It should come out something like this:
v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; rua=mailto:admin@example.com; ruf=mailto:admin@example.com; fo=1
And copy that record
Step 2 - Go to your GoDaddy domain control panel and in Additional Settings find the link that says 'Manage DNS'.
You may need to rootle around to find the link It might be like this: https://dcc.godaddy.com/manage/example.com/dns?plid=1 Other Registrars have similar systems.
Then you need to add a DNS Record of: Type = TXT Name = _dmarc Data = the value generated in step 1
And set the TTL to Custom and then to 600 seconds.
Save - and you are done.
Make sure in your Mailtraq you have not deleted the default user 'admin'. If you have deleted it, then make it an alias of your own mailbox so you can receive mail there. Send a test message from say your Gmail to admin@example.com and make sure you get it.
It will take up to 24 hours to propagate around the Internet, but that should be all you need to do.
