KB00022605 Using the Web AdministratorIn order to access all of Mailtraq's facilities we recommend administering Mailtraq direct from the Console Current versions of Mailtraq, version 2.16 and above, provide full remote console access by using a remote instance of the Management Console (MMC). See this page for details: http://info.mailtraq.com/mmc#remote User services The services that Users commonly require - such as password changes, autoresponder configuration, etc are available to Mailtraq Professional users via the Webmail Options pages as allowed by the Webmail Admin.
The Web Administrator allows some of Mailtraq's services to be configured through a Web interface (using a Web Browser). Users may only be added direct from the Console. The quick approach to configuring the Web Administrator - Go to Options -> Services
- Click on Add and select HyperText Transport Service
- In the TCP/IP Port to Listen on, enter 8282
- Enable the Web Administration option
- Disable the Provide HTTP Proxy Services and WWW Server options
- Click on OK
- Close the Service Manager dialogue
- Go to Tools -> Start Service and select the HTTP - Web Server/Proxy (8282)
You can now use the Web Administrator with a Web Browser. You simply need to know the Local Network IP address of the machine running Mailtraq (don't confuse this with the Internet IP address assigned by your InternetService Provider). For example, browse to http://192.168.1.1:8282 (assuming your IP address is 192.168.1.1). If you have a different IP address, or have selected a different Port, just use the format http://address:port. Don't forget that when you log on with the Web Administrator, you will need to use the Username and Password configured in the Options -> Users section of Mailtraq. Notes |
