KB01120801 What is the purpose of the lost found directory?

Lost or found messages are those which Mailtraq finds incomplete for whatever reason in its \database\mail\pending folders. If there's insufficient information to route them, they get pushed into the 'lost+found' folder instead of being deleted.

Sometimes messages can be placed there due to a Mailtraq error.

How to recover messages

Messages can be recovered by simply by being dragged and dropped into \'pending' .

It is best to do this in small batches so you don't delay newly arriving messages.

Ordinarily Mailtraq should be stopped when manipulating files 'behind the scenes', but it is safe to move messages from 'lost+found' to 'pending' with  Mailtraq running.

If you have doubts about the message's origins, you should examine the messages in a text editor (Notepad) first to check that they have the Mailtraq format.

Note:
There are two 'lost+found' folders.

1 - Path:\Program Files\Mailtraq\database\mail\lost+found

2 - Path:\Program Files\Mailtraq\database\mail\pending\lost+found
