In a script, the initial message context is always the trigger message, i.e., the message which triggered the script, but in a template, the initial message context is always the output message, i.e. the message being produced by the template. The SelectInMessage() and SelectOutMessage() functions, therefore, are useful only in templates for switching context between the trigger message and the output message.
For example, if a template trigger message has the Subject: header "*SUBSCRIBE" and the template output message has the Subject: header "Subscription Confirmation {abcd}", The expression SelectInMessage(); Header("Subject") returns "*SUBSCRIBE" and the expression SelectOutMessage(); Header("Subject") returns "Subscription Confirmation {abcd}".
