KB04020201 Changing the webmail portDefault port Mailtraq provides webmail on Port 80 by default.
So, if you browse to http://www.mydomain.com Mailtraq will respond with the webmail log-in page.
Note: If you are running a website on the same system as Mailtraq you will need to change the port that webmail uses to avoid a conflict - as websites must run on Port 80. This change is easy to do.
Change port You can readily change this port allocation to resolve conflicts with other services you need to run on port 80.
Using the wizard - Preferred method
Go to Mailtraq Console | Tools, and select the Webmail Install Wizard.
Enter the new port number you wish to use when asked, then simply follow the prompts.
You can check that the service is available at the 'Active Connections' view in the Console.
You may need to start the service manually.
Firewall
Check that the Windows firewall and Port Forwarding/NAT are set to allow TCP traffic on your chosen port.
Accessing Webmail
To access webmail now, you will need to add :8085 to the address. For Example http://www.mydomain.com:8085 Mailtraq will respond with the webmail log-in page.
Remember that you may have to adjust the port-forwarding on your router, firewall or other network devices.
Making the change manually - Alternative method
In the Mailtraq Console, go to Services, and select the HTTP-Web Service on port 80, click the Properties button.
Change the Port setting to another unused port. For example, 8085, and then OK back to the Console.
Go to Options | Websites, select the Web Mail on Port 80, click the Properties button.
Check the General Tab shows that Mailtraq is listening on Port 8085, then OK back to the Console.
Select Active Connections from the left-menu: check that Mailtraq is offering a connection on Port 8085. If it is not, go to, Tools | Start Service, click on the service in the fly-out list to start it.
