If a database is in use, a box will appear at the bottom of this tab giving information about the database status. Until at least 50 spam and 50 non-spam messages have been learnt, the database may not give reliable results. However, the Bayesian analyzer is cautious and until properly trained is more likely to favour false-negatives.
Click on the More link to open the Bayesian Database Viewer discussed below.
If no training has taken place the Viewer will not open.
Bayesian Database Viewer
This dialog provides information about the features stored in a Bayesian Database. As the database is a hash file (and therefore does not contain feature data) this information is extracted from the accompanying .log file.
Database Overview
This tab shows the number of features and number of messages in the database.
Automatically Whitelisted Addresses
This tab shows the addresses that have been added to the database as a result of learning non-spam. If a message is received with a return path matching one of these addresses, the message will not be analyzed. You can remove addresses from this list if an error has taken place. In order to add your own whitelist entries, you should use the White List tab of the Mailbox Properties dialog.
The Spam Features and Non-spam Features tabs give a window onto the dataset.
