Features > Console Functions > System Requirements System RequirementsThe minimum system requirements to run Mailtraq are very light, and Mailtraq will run on almost any current Windows computer: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 Mailtraq can take advantage of multiple CPU's if they are available. Mailtraq works well in a 64-bit environment* like Windows Server 2008 or XP 64-bit, or on virtual machines such as VMWare
Machine sizing needs to reflect your email requirements - a large installation using IMAP and holding a large amount of mail on the server needs a more powerful machine than a small installation using just POP3 with no mail storage. A notional installation in a webmail or IMAP environment would be: Windows XP or Server 2003/2008 on a Pentium 4 2.4GHz or higher machine with 2GB RAM, and 250MB of storage, plus additional space for Archiving. Larger installations would benefit from a more powerful system and smaller installations would manage with a less powerful system. It is a simple matter to move Mailtraq from one machine to another as your requirements change (See www.mailtraq.com/moving ).
Configuration notes *Mailtraq in a 64-bit environment The default locations and Registry entries referred to throughout this website are different on a 64-bit machine. On 64bit systems, Mailtraq installs into: C:\Program Files (x86)\Mailtraq and the Registry Key is located here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Fastraq\Mailtraq
