KB07101101 Mail Forwarding (HTTP Service)Mailtraq provides facilities for forwarding mail from Users' mailboxes both in the Console (for use by the system administrator only) and via the Webmail system in the Users' webmail 'Options' menus.
If you are not generally using webmail, however, it is still possible to configure an HTTP service to allow Users to configure their Mail Forwarding.
You will need to create a new HTTP server listening on a unique port, and a new "Web Site" attached to that port, pointing to a new directory containing this file: forwarding.asp (right-click and 'Save Target as ..' to download. Then rename the downloaded file from txt to asp to use). The web site could be set to have this file as the default file too.
When you display it, links are prepared that include the credentials but are secure. If the links are obtained by a third-party they cannot be used for logins in other systems.
The HTTP server could be set to accept connections only from the local directory or specific IP addresses to restrict access. It is also possible to use HTTPS, of course.
These links can be simply dragged from the page to the system tray to appear as buttons with the appropriate captions and a page will be displayed when they are clicked. |
