KB10100801 Adjusting SpamAssassin settings

SpamAssassin year 2010 Bug

SpamAssassin has a default rule that scores messages dated after 2010 as quite likely to be spam.

The fix is to add a line to the file which is in the etc\spamassassin directory beneath your SpamAssassin install directory.

Simply add the following line to the very end of this file using Windows Notepad - it will become the last line.

score FH_DATE_PAST_20XX 0.0

You should then use the Task Manager to end the "spamd.exe"  - Mailtraq will restart it - or simply reboot for the changes to take effect.

Setting a whitelist

Whitelist settings can be similarly appended to the file.

See this SpamAssassin KB article for syntax and warnings.
