SMTP Bind IP
SMTP Bind enables the management of outbound message delivery routes. This is set from the Static Routing Table.
In a multi-homed system where the Mailtraq machine has multiple Network Interface Cards (NIC) Bind to IP Address enables routes to specify which IP address messages will be sent from.
This feature is necessary in multi-domain situations where mail from one domain must route via one Public IP address, and mail from another domain hosted in Mailtraq must route via a different IP address so that different rDNS values will be true.
Filter outbound domain
In a multi-domain scenario a filter may be set so that mail From: a specific (local) domain is sent via a Bound IP route.
The default * domain should be the lowest on the list. This domain will also provide routing for admin or other system generated messages.
SMTP Bind to IP Address is only available if the
[x] Enable Advanced Outbound Router
In normal operation Bind to IP Address is only set on selected routes.
The drop-down will list the available IP addresses.
Note - 127.0.0.1 is the loop-back address and should not be selected if offered.
