info.mailtraq.com > User Management > Mail Group - Maintenance Mail Group - MaintenanceMail Group - Maintenance Tab This tab, which appears on the Mail Group Properties dialog configures various hard disk space saving methods available. These space saving methods are only executed at the scheduled maintenance period. The Root Mail Group is accessed at Options | Incoming Mail | Options-tab Automatically Compress Mailboxes
Compressing mailboxes greatly reduces hard drive usage but may adversely affect server performance.
Automatically Remove Deleted Items - Mailbox Folders Items deleted in IMAP are not removed from the server unless a client request is made to permanently remove the messages OR this option is enabled and the maintenance period is reached. Perform these actions at ... day intervals This is the most simple scheduling available for this option. The selected maintenance options will be executed within the selected interval of days.
Automatically Remove Junk mail Items - Mailbox Folders Items that are folder filtered to the Junk Mail folder will remain there until manually removed unless this option is enabled. This option was introduced in Mailtraq build 2126
Note: Administrators should guard against allowing excessive build up of junk or deleted mail in Users mailboxes. Effective spam filtering can divert many thousands of messages to Junk - and this build up of messages can slow the overall performance of the mailserver - particularly the responsiveness of webmail.
Configure System-Wide Maintenance Periods Clicking this button will bring up a re-occurring weekly schedule table. From the schedule displayed, click and highlight the day/time to perform the selected maintenance tasks. See the advice on setting maintenance periods here...
