info.mailtraq.com > POP3 Collection Services > POP3 - Mail Filtering POP3 - Mail Filtering Mail Filtering Tab
This tab appears on the POP3 Account Properties dialog. Mailtraq uses the settings in this tab to provide filtering facilities for messages retrieved from remote POP3 servers.
One advantage of using the POP3 protocol to collect mail is that the headers of any messages waiting on the remote POP3 server can be retrieved without downloading the whole message. Mailtraq leverages this capability by providing filters which act on the headers and on the overall message size so that mail can be screened in advance of retrieval. If filtered mail is left on the remote POP3 server instead of being downloaded, it can still be retrieved at a later date by altering the properties of the message preview entry in the console.
Enable Filtering Check this option to enable Mailtraq to provide filtering facilities for this account.
Maximum Size Mailtraq will not download any messages from the remote POP3 server which exceed the size in Kb entered into this edit box.
Edit Filter Click on Edit Filter to reveal the Filter Settings dialog wherein filters can be configured to act on the headers of the messages waiting for retrieval from the remote POP3 server.
Delete Unwanted Mail If this option, which is only available if Leave Mail On Server is enabled on the Account Details tab, is checked Mailtraq immediately deletes all filtered out mail from the remote POP3 server.
Notify Sender... This option is available only if Delete Unwanted Mail is enabled. If enabled, Mailtraq sends a message, based on the pop3_deleted.tpl template, to the sender to advise them that their message was refused.
Send Filter Summary to... If this option is checked Mailtraq sends filter summary messages to the address selected in the drop box.
