info.mailtraq.com > Incoming Mail > Sorting Sorting This tab appears on the Inbox Properties dialog and enables Mailtraq to be configured to deliver incoming mail to a mailbox specified by user definable message filter settings.
The primary use for Mail Sort is to rewrite the forward path of messages based on the contents of their headers. An example of such usage might be to direct inbound mail messages to the specific address required by a Mail-to-News Gateway defined in Mailtraq, or to route messages with specified contents, or from particular senders to a designated mailbox. Mail Sorting is not suitable for creating large numbers of rules, aimed at, for example, filtering junk mail away from user mailslots to a mailbox designated for the purpose, because it's capacity is severely limited in relation to the infinite variety of junk mail. See Anti-spam for better methods of coping with spam messages. Multiple filter matches are possible and, if any filter does match, the original recipients are ignored.
