The console provides the primary user interface for all the features in Mailtraq. It also provides a real time display of Mailtraq's activities and enables all stored messages to be viewed. Also, every Mailtraq feature which is configured via property dialogs can be accessed via the console.
In late 2009 Mailtraq introduced the MMC Console based on the Microsoft Management Console (MMC), in addition to the Traditional Console.
Which Console am I using?
The MMC (also called the WiX) Console is the console provided for all new installations of Mailtraq.
Check in Help
If you are a long-time user of Mailtraq and want to check which Console you are using, open the Console and select the Help menu. If you see 'About Microsoft Management Console.. (as shown above) then you are using the current MMC Console.
We recommend that all users of Mailtraq transistion to the MMC Console if they are not already using it. The MMC Console is suitable for use with all current versions of Windows: Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, as well as Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server. How to upgrade...

Mailtraq Configuration - Service Control Panel
The 'Mailtraq Configuration' option in the Windows Start Menu gives access to the Mailtraq Service Control Panel.
Stop and Start Mailtraq
This panel enables you to Stop and Start the Mailtraq Service (also see 'Mailtraq Monitor' above).
It also allows you to change the Mailtraq Database Path and Database Type, when Mailtraq is stopped.
If this option is selected the current Database content will not move but will not be visible when Mailtraq is started.
You would use these options to create a new database for your Mailtraq installation - abandoning the existing one. Messages could be imported from the abandoned database using the Message Import Wizard.
Advice on moving your Database from one location to another will be found here: www.mailtraq.com/moving
